Business or Pleasure?

Blazers, pencil skirts and blouses are quickly transforming from office regulars to party pleasers. Thanks to some of our favorite designers, you no longer need to separate your work wardrobe and what you WANT to wear. Look for separates that feature unique detailing, unexpected fabrications or modern prints to make your work wardrobe ideal for off-duty dressing as well. We call it the NEW business casual, ideal for creative professionals who want to look sharp and still show their individuality.  It’s all about getting great mileage out of every piece and oh, the places you’ll go!

Haute Hues

{Greylin Beatriz Tuxedo Jacket; Wildfox Totally For Sure Classic V Neck; Genetic Denim Daphne Slant Pocket Zipper Cigarette; Chan Luu Cashmere & Silk Scarf in Eggshell; Linea Pelle Addison Hip Belt; Gorjana Finley Ring Set; Gorjana Graham Leather Bar Triple Wrap; Gorjana Leather Pyramid Stud Bracelet in Metallic Charcoal; Gorjana Graham Leather Pyramid Stud Triple Wrap in Navy}

This Spring palette is all about harmony. Punched-up pastels and vibrant hues are complimented by neutral tones to create unique combinations that offer practicality  yet still encourage self expression. Along with the neutral of the season, Linen, soft pastels like Greyed Jade, a subtle green with grey undertone, and Dusk Blue, a calm,  light and airy shade, act as the season’s newest neutrals, providing the perfect balance to brighter hues such as Poppy Red, Lemon Zest, and African Violet. May we also note that colors like Mint and Coral are also a huge part of Spring ’13, giving you a wide range of stand-out hues to choose from. If you shy away from color, you’re still in luck, black & white (the ‘it’ color combo of the year) has updated itself for Spring in op art prints, bold stripes, and ultra crisp color blocking. Spring ’13 provides the perfect palette with the balance of light and bright, classic and new.

Take a Bow

{Paper Crown Barlow Top; Ani Lee Athena Skirt; House of Harlow Tilda Clutch; Gorjana G Hoop Earrings; Gorjana Camden Hammered Skinny Cuff}

It’s all in the details. Unexpected leather trim, cut-out backs and big bows are just a few features you can look forward to seeing this season. These subtle twists can create major drama, taking your look to the next level. Some of our favorite designers are joining in on this detail frenzy-  Paper Crown’s (featured) big bow designs create a look that is ultra-feminine while Parker and Genetic Denim take it to the edge with leather trim jackets. As Spring approaches, turn up the heat with Akiko and Parker, as they flirtatiously play with bare back cut-outs. These show-stopping pieces certainly deserve applause.
